Decrease Body Fatigue and Increase Your Energy

January 29, 2010

Do you constantly battle with body fatigue or low energy?  It’s a common thing to deal with when you’re living in society.  Kids, bills, work, traffic and stress are just some of the things that can have you wanting to crawl back in the bed by noon.  What’s even more scary is that body fatigue doesn’t get any better as you get older.  While there may not be anything we can do about our daily obligations, there are some things you can do to eliminate your body fatigue.

I don’t know how to put this any more simpler.  Get rid of the garbage.  I know I know, coffee and donuts are the greatest thing in the world at 7:30 in the morning, but what about 10:00 when the sugar crash comes?  Lunch isn’t any better.  I know carbs can be a tremendous comfort food around noon, but what about 1:30?

A good way to keep your energy sustained at a functional level?  Healthy food.  What is healthy food?  Instead of coffee and d0nuts, try an apple instead.  If you’re not a fruit person in the morning, yogurt will do.  Yogurt is not only a healthy alternative snack, it taste great too.  When lunch comes around, instead of having that greasy slice of extra thick Sicilian pizza, have a Caesar or garden salad.  If the salad’s not enough, add a sandwich (whole wheat bread of course).  The key here is to eat food that will give you energy and not cause fatigue.

Another great way is exercise.  It’s no secret that exercise can give you energy, fight body fatigue and prolong your life.  Exercise allows you to do everything well like carry groceries, stand for a lengthy amount of time, walk, study and I can go on and on.  If you’re not active at all, start with a simple morning or afternoon walk.  You’ll be surprised at what you feel in a short amount of time.  If you’re slightly active, get into cardiovascular activities such as jumping rope, taking up a sport, yoga, pilates or martial arts.

Finally, positive mental reinforcement.  Sometimes your mind can have a tremendous positive or negative affect on how you feel.  Instead of going to bed with the television on or watching a violent program, try listening to some motivational material like Tony Robbins or Les Brown (I can hear you laughing, but it works).  Also, when you wake up in the morning read something positive and motivational to get you started.  Feel how different this makes you feel as opposed to the morning news.

Try these mental and physical approaches and notice the difference in your energy.  Enjoy your wellness.
